Happy New Year!

1 01 2009

It’s 2009! I don’t understand why it is so exciting, but everyone else is posting this kind of thing, so welcome to a fresh start! Feel free to post a comment detailing your New Year’s Resolution (If you have one – I don’t bother), or don’t bother and keep it to yourself. As I say, I don’t have one myself, so I don’t mind whether you want to share or not. Last night me and Harry had our own mini New Year’s Eve party, at about 7:30, which consisted of a handful of Roses, Quality Street and Celebrations and a WKD-style drink each, all gathered around our two-player game of Uno. When he had gone to bed, the rest of us gathered round the TV to first watch Michael McIntyre’s DVD. I think the best joke was about the Man Drawer, the one drawer of the house that the man takes as his own – and chucks all his “manly” possessions into. These include instructions for things you don’t own anymore, old phones, currency from foreign countries that’s not in circulation now and takeaway menus (even though you order exactly the same things every time). It was hilarious! I won’t go into all the details, you can probably find it on YouTube or something if you want to watch it. Or alternatively, you could just buy the DVD.

To conclude, have a good year. Didn’t last year seem to go rather quickly?

D’oh! Not Again!

26 12 2008

I know that I said there would be another MCSMS tomorrow, and I even made it in advance, but I forgot to bring it with me this weekend. You know what that means: another extra day to wait until Sunday. Sorry!

On a happier note, Merry Christmas for yesterday! I hope Santa brought you what you wanted. Personally, I’m saving for a new MacBook so I wanted money this year instead of presents. I got it – to the tune of £519. Which means that I now have enough to order my computer! Yay!

I also received an evil 4x4x4 Rubik’s Cube and Animal Crossing for Wii, amongst some other, littler presents.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town…

24 12 2008

Yes, in the words of Frank Sinatra (and probably a load of other people as well), Santa Claus is indeed coming to town. Dig around in the loft and find that stocking and get it hung up – usual preference is over the fireplace, but if you don’t have a fireplace, or work for the fire brigade and don’t like the fire hazard of cloth near an open fire, hang it at the end of your bed instead. The big guy in a red costume will come when you are sleeping, but he knows when you’re awake and he knows if you’ve been bad or good, so be good for goodness’ sake! Otherwise, he won’t visit and then you’ll be like “Oh, if only I was good and I went to sleep last night” and you won’t have any extra presents. You’ll regret it! I bet you didn’t know that St. Nick actually came from Turkey (although that’s probably not the reason that we eat turkey on the 25th) and that, before he was commercialised, he actually wore a green suit! Bet that doesn’t seem right when you picture it in your head!

There will be a special Christmas-themed MCSMS tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled and have fun watching! Plus there will be another episode on Saturday, as usual! I spoil you, don’t I?

Finally, why not spoil your Mac (or iPhone) by making it all Christmassy?

Flickr-Tastic!

19 10 2008

I thought I would remind you that every so often, I create a little something in Photoshop, and that 97.645% of the time, I upload said something to Flickr. If you want to see my little somethings, go to my Flickr photostream at http://www.flickr.com/photos/mrcheese and you can comment on them and things of similar effect. I even uploaded something new today!

I also got my last birthday present today (It makes up for the early one because it’s late) – two, count them, two £15 iTunes vouchers! This means that in total this year I have received £50 of iTunes money! I don’t think I’ll be running out very soon, do you?

Happy Birthday!

18 10 2008

Today, as you probably guessed, was my birthday. Well, I say this, but it was also Harry’s birthday as well. How’s that for bad planning? Anyway, what did I get other than Spore?

An iPod Touch (which I’m using to type this)
A 1TB external hard drive (which we had to send back as it didn’t work)
$100 (yes, it was American dollars!)
A case for my iPod
3 books
Another £40 to make £105
£20 iTunes voucher

So, it was a good 15th birthday! And to top it off, we went to the Thai Elephant 2 in Peacehaven for an all-you-can-eat dinner!

Check out one of the cards I got!

PS Episode 2 of Mr Cheese’s Stop Motion Show went live today. See you soon!

La Premièr Cadeau

17 10 2008

What’s this, you say? The first present? But it’s my birthday tomorrow! It’s true; I received my received by first birthday present early today, along with £65 early birthday money as well! What was the present? It was Spore Creatures for Nintendo DS. I haven’t had a chance to play it yet, but it looks good!

So, what will I get tomorrow, on my actual birthday? Who knows (except the people who bought the presents and then proceeded to wrap them up)?

Oops…

20 09 2008

The Icon tutorial has been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, which involve me forgetting to put the tutorial onto a flash drive and bring it with me this weekend. Don’t worry though: I will resume progress as soon as I get home on Sunday!

And now more bad news: I forgot ITLAPD! What is ITLAPD? It’s International Talk Like A Pirate Day, of course! It was on Friday (the 19th of September – remember next year!), so here is an extract of what I would have said then if I’d remembered!

Argh! It be International Talk Like A Pirate Day, so I be hopin’ ye remembered and started talkin’ like one! This day happens every year, landlubber, so don’t be forgettin’ next year! Aye, the 19th of September always be ITLAPD, Jim-Lad, so get ye sea-legs ready! I be sailin’ off for the weekend, so I be seein’ ye soon!

Wasn’t that exciting? I’m sure you thought it was! So, both sets of bad news out the way! Now for some randomness – if you buy a Pot Noodle, you can win a spinning fork! See you later!
