Mr Cheese’s Skiing Adventure

2 04 2009

At the time of writing, it’s 17 hours and 20 minutes until the Epic Mr Cheese Skiing Adventure Begins. You may have already noticed the well-suited temporary new header image (which actually shows Austria, where I’m going for the Adventure) and if not, look up to the top of the page, right now!

It’s a school ski trip to Alpendorf, Austria for a week with skiing all day everyday, Sunday-Thursday. We’re going by coach at 3:40 on Friday, leaving Eastbourne for Folkestone, where it’s onto the Eurotunnel for a while, when Calais all the way to the hotel in Alpendorf. All together it’s about a 14 hour trip, so I have my iPod and a pillow packed for the journey!

If there’s (free) wi-fi at the resort-type-place, I’ll blog each day about the adventures so far. If not, I’ll save posts as drafts then post them as one long ski trip novel when we get back on Saturday at about 12:30 pm.

I’ll be taking my camera, so watch this space for some snowy-white photos!

Oh, and for obvious reasons, don’t go expecting new MCSMS episodes for the next couple of weeks (unless you can tell me how to upload to YouTube from halfway up a mountain, that is). That’s Saturday 4th and Saturday 11th, for those calendar-worshipping people out there.

See you soon!

Nice and Cold

2 02 2009

So yesterday I was wrong, I did get the day off school – after going in for half an hour, they sent us home. We played with remote controlled cars out the front (they don’t drive properly on snowy grass!), had a snowball fight and decided to go sledging, which was fairly fun, but very cold! It’s just lucky I was wearing a hat, gloves and ski-slash-hiking books! I suppose this is just preparation ready for my ski trip to Austria in April.

Night-Time Snow To Begin The Month

1 02 2009

So it’s the first of February (Pinch, punch first of the month, no returns) and it seems that our present is a night-time garden full of snow. It’s about an inch deep, judging from the kitty pawprints on the front path, so there’s probably no need to start getting excited about days off school. For those of you who don’t have a white blanket tonight, here are some snowy pictures for you to enjoy.

Ho-Hum…

6 01 2009

macworldgrextetWell, I don’t really have much to say at the moment, except I got my English coursework done on time (yippee) and I am definitely not very good at Tetris (boo). Oh, and I can’t wait to see the video of the Apple keynote which may, or may not, have finished yet. It started about 55 minutes ago – any ideas how long before the video will be online anyone?

Happy New Year!

1 01 2009

It’s 2009! I don’t understand why it is so exciting, but everyone else is posting this kind of thing, so welcome to a fresh start! Feel free to post a comment detailing your New Year’s Resolution (If you have one – I don’t bother), or don’t bother and keep it to yourself. As I say, I don’t have one myself, so I don’t mind whether you want to share or not. Last night me and Harry had our own mini New Year’s Eve party, at about 7:30, which consisted of a handful of Roses, Quality Street and Celebrations and a WKD-style drink each, all gathered around our two-player game of Uno. When he had gone to bed, the rest of us gathered round the TV to first watch Michael McIntyre’s DVD. I think the best joke was about the Man Drawer, the one drawer of the house that the man takes as his own – and chucks all his “manly” possessions into. These include instructions for things you don’t own anymore, old phones, currency from foreign countries that’s not in circulation now and takeaway menus (even though you order exactly the same things every time). It was¬†hilarious! I won’t go into all the details, you can probably find it on YouTube or something if you want to watch it. Or alternatively, you could just buy the DVD.

To conclude, have a good year. Didn’t last year seem to go rather quickly?

Super-Ultra-Mega-Yay!

27 12 2008

MacBook2008I’m really, really, really, really, really happy! Do you know why? It’s because I don’t need to order my new MacBook any more! We went into Brighton today, to Solutions, and bought it! In fact, I’m typing this post from “Mr MacBook”! I was in the process of adding bookmarks to Safari and downloading my favourite applications such as NetNewsWire and Adium when I realised that I needed to post about it! I got a 13″ Aluminium MacBook with 2GB RAM (more than my iMac at home!) and a 160GB hard drive (Less than my iMac at home) and it’s rather nice. It has a multi-touch trackpad so I can swipe with different combinations of fingers for different effects – for example, a three-finger swipe to the left in Safari is essentially the same as pressing the Back button in the browser. It’s really good! And the best part is, it’s all mine! No-one to tell me what applications I can install or anything! Yay!

I’m off to do some more customising. See you soon!

D’oh! Not Again!

26 12 2008

I know that I said there would be another MCSMS tomorrow, and I even made it in advance, but I forgot to bring it with me this weekend. You know what that means: another extra day to wait until Sunday. Sorry!

On a happier note, Merry Christmas for yesterday! I hope Santa brought you what you wanted. Personally, I’m saving for a new MacBook so I wanted money this year instead of presents. I got it – to the tune of ¬£519. Which means that I now have enough to order my computer! Yay!

I also received an evil 4x4x4 Rubik’s Cube and Animal Crossing for Wii, amongst some other, littler presents.
